Kim was born in a small town in Connecticut but moved to Brooklyn in 2017 to become a zookeeper at the Prospect Park and Central Park Zoos. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors in Animal Science. After moving to New York, she earned a Masters Degree in Conservation Biology from Miami University and a Masters Degree in Science Education from Pace University. Her love of animals has led her to do conservation field work all around the world in places such as Baja California, Costa Rica, Borneo, and Yellowstone National Park. At Lyons, she teaches Animal Behavior, Neuroscience, and Zoology courses which allows students to gain hands-on animal care experience to prepare them for college.
