Kai Peterson
High School Science
Kai (they/them) was born in Boston, and came to New York to attend Vassar College, where they studied Earth Science, Geography, and Spanish. Kai currently lives in Bed-Stuy, and they moved to the city to become a teacher through the American Museum of Natural History. They did their student teaching residencies at Hunter's Point Community Middle School in Queens and Bronx Early College Academy. Kai currently teaches 9th grade Environmental Science and 12th grade Health, which is great because they get to share their passion for climate justice and comprehensive sex education with students. On the weekends, you can catch Kai exploring the Brooklyn music scene or enjoying the great outdoors with their partner and friends in the Hudson Valley.
