Dear Lyons Families,
We’re excited to welcome your child to Lyons Community School! As we prepare for the start of the school year, we invite all new students to attend our New Student Orientation, designed to build community, spark curiosity, and set students up for success.

Parent Orientation August 28 | 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
This orientation is designed to help students feel connected, confident, and ready to begin their journey at Lyons. Through a mix of creative activities, team-building games, and thoughtful discussions, students will:
Meet their peers and key staff members
Learn about Lyons’ academic program and supports
Explore restorative practices and community expectations
Engage in hands-on projects and icebreakers
Tour the school
Lunch will be provided, and all materials will be supplied. Students don’t need to bring anything except their curiosity and energy!
We believe that every student should be known, understood, and supported—and orientation is the first step in that journey. If you have any questions or need support with transportation, please don’t hesitate to reach out. At 4:00 on Thursday, August 28 we will have an orientation for parents and guardians so they can learn about the school’s program and policies and get answers to any questions that have come up.

Esta orientación está diseñada para que los estudiantes se sientan conectados, seguros y listos para comenzar su camino en Lyons. A través de una combinación de actividades creativas, juegos de integración y conversaciones reflexivas, los estudiantes podrán:
Conocer a sus compañeros y al personal clave
Aprender sobre el programa académico y los apoyos de Lyons
Explorar prácticas restaurativas y expectativas comunitarias
Participar en proyectos prácticos y dinámicas grupales
Recorrer la escuela
Se proporcionará almuerzo, y todos los materiales estarán disponibles. Los estudiantes solo necesitan traer su curiosidad y energĂa.
Creemos que cada estudiante debe ser conocido, comprendido y apoyado—y la orientación es el primer paso en ese camino. Si tiene preguntas o necesita ayuda con el transporte, no dude en comunicarse con nosotros.
A las 4:00 PM del miĂ©rcoles 28 de agosto, tendremos una orientaciĂłn para padres y tutores, donde podrán conocer el programa y las polĂticas de la escuela, y recibir respuestas a cualquier pregunta que tengan.
