Alexandra Collazo-Baker
English as a New Language, MS/HS
Alex was born and raised in Washington Heights and cherishes the warm memories of her learning experiences as a New York City public school student. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University (Go Bearcats!) and her master’s degree from NYU Steinhardt. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, knitting, hiking, and skiing.
At Lyons, Alex teaches English to Multilingual Learners (MLLs). From the moment she considered becoming a teacher, she knew that teaching English as a New Language would be the perfect fit. Her love for travel and learning about new cultures has taken her to many countries, and she has even lived in a few.
Alex has been teaching in the NYCDOE since 2011 and has been a proud member of LYONS Community School since 2019. She is excited to continue making new memories in the years to come!
