High School Science and Health

Alana is a Flint, Michigan native and graduate of Brooklyn College and Michigan State University with Master's degrees in both Zoo and Aquarium Management and Science Education. Her background in zoology has allowed her to work with wildlife from monkey sanctuaries in Ghana to the Bronx Zoo, and she brings her passion for animals to the courses she teaches. Topics in Zoology includes partnerships with the National Parks Service, the American Museum of Natural History, NYCH2O, and the Hudson River Park Trust. Animal Behavior, a PBAT course, allows students to have a hands-on caretaking experience while practicing (humane) college-level techniques in a lab setting.
