High School SETSS
After pausing my college career to try a construction apprenticeship, I earned a B.A. in Math at San Francisco State University and the M.A. in Pure Math at Hunter College.I have been teaching full or part time since 1989 in middle school, high school, and community college.
When Lyons opened, I taught 9th grade and then took a year off to study Special Education methods at Lehman College. Since returning to Lyons, I have been responsible for working with small study groups ranging from grades 6-12, organizing IEP meetings, and more.
I like introducing students to books they might enjoy and connecting subject teachers with resources that might interest their students.
I am married with two children but one is away at college (I'm the one on the left in the picture). My advice to Lyons students: Open your mind and trust that any skill or concept can become easy when we break it down together.
