7th Grade Learning Specialist Ariana joined Lyons' staff for the 2011-12 school year. She was born and raised in Coney Island, Brooklyn and attended NYC public schools. She received a degree in Anthropology from Binghamton University. After college she served in the Peace Corps in the country of Georgia. As a Peace Corps volunteer Ariana taught English as a foreign language to students from grades 2 through 11. Her students called her “Ariana Mastzavlebelo”. She also facilitated many youth programs and camps throughout her two years in Georgia. Upon her return to New York, Ariana worked as a Community Associate in a small public high school which inspired her to join the Teaching Fellows program in 2010. She is very excited to be joining the Lyons staff and to be working with our 7th graders. |
