Amy has taught English, social studies, humanities and photography in NYC public high schools in Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx. She is a graduate of Oberlin College and Teachers College, Columbia University. Amy is thrilled and inspired to be joining the Lyons Community School staff this year as a 12th grade English teacher and is looking forward to helping the first graduating class of Lyons achieve their goals and prepare for college and the future. Amy is also the co-founder and president of Kuleba Exchange, an educational nonprofit organization that facilitates cultural exchange programs, most recently between New York City public high school graduates and young survivors of the Rwandan genocide. Kuleba Exchange also sponsors the education of over 30 orphans living in a village of genocide survivors outside of Kigali, Rwanda.
