Rush Philantropic Arts Foundation, with its eleven-year history of providing underserved youth significant exposure to the arts, will apprentice our students to professional painters, sculptors, photographers and designers in an authentic studio setting. Students will exhibit their work for the entire community in the school’s professional gallery space made possible by support from the Foundation. Openings, organized and publicized by students, celebrate individual expression, and reaffirm the school’s tie to the greater community. In addition to the studio program, Rush exposes students to contemporary artists and designers through visits to galleries and studios. Students become comfortable in gallery discussions, talking about what they see and feel.
