If you've been following the news over the last few months you've probably noticed that our 9th graders go to some really cool places for their World Religions classes. Well now it's time to tie it all together; over the next three weeks our 9th graders will be spending a lot of time at the MET as they prepare their final projects for the World Religions Field Studies class. Each student will prepare a themed tour to take family and community members on as they use art and artifacts to illustrate similarities and/or differences between the Religions of the world. This project isn't just about doing a lot of work, or developing a thesis, or tying together some seriously big ideas... It's also about participating in a community tradition. At Lyons, giving this tour is a coming of age ceremony of sorts, an event that marks a student's preparedness and true passage into high school.
